Montenegro Touch Rugby Mixed Open - Invitation to Players and Supporters of Montenegrin Heritage Worldwide
Autor: Dear , We are reaching out to you with a sincere request for your support and assistance in helping us build a strong Montenegro National Touch Rugby Mixed Open Team in one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. Your support would mean a great deal to us, and therefore we are sharing with you more information about our project and our goals. Touch Rugby represents a great opportunity for Montenegro to become a bright point of our national sport, especially considering the positive results and progress achieved by our athletes and teams in recent years. We are reaching out on behalf of the Montenegro Touch Rugby Mixed Open National Team Project with the goal of connecting athletes of Montenegrin heritage around the world and inviting them to become part of an ambitious new sporting project. We are proud to announce that Arsenal Tivat, a Touch Rugby club from Tivat, Montenegro, has taken a major step forward by joining the Dutch Touch Rugby Championship for the 2026/2027 season. Competing in one of Europe‘s more developed Touch Rugby environments will allow us to develop our players through regular high-level competition and build the foundation of the future Montenegro National Touch Rugby Mixed Open Team. Our vision is to create a competitive national team that will represent Montenegro at the highest international level, including: the next European Touch Rugby Championships, the Touch Rugby World Cup in Australia, and, in the long term, to pursue qualification for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games, should Touch Rugby become part of the Olympic programme. Montenegro is a country with a proud sporting tradition and a strong passion for its athletes. We believe that Montenegrin communities around the world represent a great opportunity to discover talented players and bring together people who share a connection with Montenegro. We are looking for: players and athletes of Montenegrin heritage with experience in Touch Rugby, Rugby Union, Rugby League or other rugby-related disciplines, athletes from other sports who have a strong physical background, speed, agility, fitness and competitive experience, and who can quickly adapt to the demands of Touch Rugby, especially those who are familiar with rugby principles and teamwork, men and women who would like to proudly represent Montenegro on the international stage. Our goal is not only to find experienced Touch Rugby players, but also to identify talented athletes with the right physical qualities, sporting mentality and understanding of rugby who can develop quickly within our system. A Global Montenegro Diaspora Sports Project - 2027 In addition to building our national team, we are also working on a major international project aimed at connecting the Montenegrin diaspora around the world through sport. Our vision is to organise a worldwide Montenegro Diaspora Sports Championship in 2027, beginning with Touch Rugby and potentially including one or two additional amateur and recreational sports. This project would not be professional competition, but an opportunity for Montenegrins around the world to represent their countries of residence, compete, build friendships and strengthen connections with Montenegro. The concept is: Montenegrin communities and teams would organise and compete in their own countries, representatives of the Montenegro Touch Rugby Federation would visit each country and assist with team formation, education, training and preparation, the best teams would then participate in a grand final event held in Montenegro. We believe this could become a unique project - something that no other European country has created for its diaspora in this way. Montenegro has the opportunity to be the first country in Europe to connect its worldwide community through organised amateur sports competitions. Our idea has already been presented to relevant Ministries in Montenegro, and we have received positive informal reactions and interest in supporting this vision. At the same time, we would like to invite members of the Montenegrin community worldwide who are not athletes, but who share a connection and love for Montenegro, to become part of this important project. We believe that the support of our diaspora can play a crucial role in building a sustainable future for Montenegro Touch Rugby and this wider international initiative. We welcome individuals, companies, organisations and businesses who may wish to support the project through sponsorship, partnerships or by helping establish a foundation in countries with strong Montenegrin communities, especially in Australia. Every form of support, whether financial, organisational, promotional or through personal involvement, would mean a great deal and would help us create better conditions for our athletes and our community projects. Montenegro is a country that knows how to recognise and support the achievements of its athletes. This project is receiving increasing support from our community, and we believe it has the potential to attract significant media attention and become a strong connection between Montenegro and its worldwide diaspora.
